Joe Naftal is the Marketing Director for Dance Connection and the CEO of Penny Prima^®, in addition to his work as a freelance lighting designer for theatre, dance, opera, and themed entertainment.  He has taught production and marketing classes across the country and has a book that has been published in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia. Joe is a member of United Scenic Artists and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. Joe’s lighting design credits include Area Stage Company, Five Towns Performing Arts Center, the Tank, Adelphi University, John W. Engeman Theatre, Hofstra University, Philadelphia’s Academy of Music, and Nassau Community College. Credits as an assistant lighting designer include American Ballet Theatre, Philadelphia Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Goodspeed Musicals, Piedmont Opera, Kennywood Theme Park, Phantom of the Opera (Broadway), Dog Man, Laramie: A Legacy, The Gentleman Caller, Bulldozer, and The Mad Ones (Off-Broadway). He holds a BFA in Design & Production from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Lighting Design at Adelphi University and Five Towns College.
